I had purchased this unit last fall and was never able to connect it to Wifi so returned it. I tried Maytronics Customer Service but they just kept saying to send in for service, since it was $60 to send for service I just returned the entire unit. I used it a couple of times and liked it overall. My question, I believe that bluetooth (from the phone app) is used for the initial connection and then it is set-up on wifi. Is this correct? The phone app could never find the unit.

I have this very unit. I bought it (my second ) July 2024 and preferred to not use this function. I think this feature is for people that leave it for days in the pool. For best results on my pool, I use it for it's cycle and then empty it's contents. That feature on the phone is a not of interest for me. Cleaning and providing maintenance on this unit is more important to me.
