When the complete control system components come out, will the RS-485 controls allow full communication and control of Jandy pumps and heaters, or will it be limited functionality and require wiring to the pump dry contacts for limited speed options and a fireman’s switch to the heater?

According to the descriptions, there will be two RS-485 relays for controlling things like variable speed pumps and heaters /heat pumps, and then four on/off relays like also you mention for other items that need basic scheduling.
