You would use it the other way around - you'd set the *high* PSI level at which it would alert you. That way you know its time to clean your filter. FYI that should be 5-10 PSI over your ""clean filter"" pressure (which is unique for everyone, so if you don't know that then clean your filter and record the resulting PSI when you are done.)
