The APX Performance P20, P40, and P60 cells do have this - it is the Check Salt status light. Take a look at the P-Cell manual on page 10, where it explains this indicator. Additionally, this cell shows the actual salinity level it is measuring on its display.
When the system is operating normally, that light should be green. If it changes red to a low-salt warning, it will either be flashing (meaning the system can still operate, but the level is just outside its threshold), or it will be solid (meaning the system can no longer generate chlorine until the issue is fixed).
So this cell gives quite a bit of feedback. Note that the APX P-Series operates ideally within a 2,800-4,500 ppm salt range, but can still generate chlorine within the 2,300-6,000 ppm salt range. Maintaining the pool around the middle of that range, approximately 3,400 ppm, is a good target.
Additionally, with any cell, it is best to check salinity independently before ever adding salt. Do not add salt solely because a light has changed. Instead, confirm the actual salt level with an independent test, and also inspect the cell for mineral scaling.
