The APX PERFORMANCE P40 Aftermarket Replacement Cell can be installed vertically. However, these cells are "directional" with a designated direction for the water to flow through the cell. Since the keypad and display can't be re-oriented (rotated), the cell needs to be positioned so that the water flows upwards through the cell or the readout on the display will be upside down.
