The flow switch can be horizontal or vertical. You don't want to install it immediately after an elbow; you want water to be flowing straight for about 6-10"" ideally before it enters the cell.
Can the flow switch with the RJ45+ system be installed in a vertical position following a 90 degree elbow after where the cell is installed (horizontally)? This is the portion of the pipe before that is still visible before it goes underground to return water to the pool (i.e. the last point before water returns to the pool).
