Yes, the CircuPool RJ-45 Plus, as well as the majority of other salt chlorinators, can be retrofitted to an existing pool. Simply identify space in the piping after all the other equipment and before it returns to the pool for the installation site. If you have limited pipe length in which to fit the flow switch and cell, consider the ""Vertical Installation Kit"" which requires only a 6.5"" stretch of pipe for installation.
