You are trying to compare apples and oranges here. The Hayward Plus is an ""automation system"" while the CircuPool Universal 40 is solely an automatic saltwater chlorinator.
The Universal can be powered by an automation system but it does not utilize RS485 data communication and the Universal system can only be controlled directly from its own control module.
