The CORE 35 is fully up to the task of handling your pool. However, the CORE 55 is a great value in terms of the extra chlorine it will generate over its lifetime which translates into longer cell life.
I have an 18,000-gal pool in Virginia that gets full sun. Should I upsize from a Core-35 unit to a Core-55 unit? CircuPool CORE-35 Salt Chlorine Generator Salt Chlorinators
Small children use it periodically. Pool is shallow - max 5.5 ft deep.
