The SJ model can work with a variable speed pump, but you'll need to make sure its on a timer that runs in sync with your VSP's programming. For an easier option, choose a salt system model that has a flow switch like the RJ model. That way the salt system can detect the water starting and stopping and it is much easier to synchronize with your programmable pump.
