I wonder about how long a unit would have to run to provide adequate chlorination?For example, I have an 18,000 gallon inground pool with a single stage 1 1/2 HP pump, if I was to purchase the sj-40 (or even the sj-55) how long would it have to run per day to keep the pool chlorinated? Due to limited space, I only have two places where a CORE system would fit and it seems neither option is very good. (1) The unit controls will bump my filter if situated above the pvc. It would fit if placed at a 45 degree angle. Is this an option? (2) The unit can be installed along a vertical section of pvc before my in-floor cleaning system actuator. I see the 10,000 rated lifespan of the cell but have recenlty gotten a Jandy 2.7hp epump that I am running 20+ hours a day at low speed. I share because with my estimation that means that I will only see about a year and a quarter of life. So, the pro of running a pump as long as possible is the filtration but wouldn't it also produce a con of wearing out the cell faster. Just wanted to get thoughts on this situation. View answer
