Salt Chlorinators Q&A

I have about 22 inches of straight pipe where I want to install this. If installing the flow switch and inverted cell on the same straight pipe, is the 6-12” of pipe before the flow switch required? Since it is the same straight pipe, can it be less? Or will the flow have to be installed after the cell? View answer

We are redoing our gunite pool. We had a chlorine feeder and now we would like to change our system over to a Salt water pool. Can the RJ45 be installed if it is not replacing an old Salt water system? View answer

So I just got done cleaning my filter, remove the cell and cleaned it as well and added salt to the pool. I feel I put too much in because I’m getting a high salinity alarm. Do I need to drain water out of the pool and put untreated, water back into lower the salinity or will it still chlorinate and just have a high salt contact. View answer

I have an RJ-45 chlorinator. I checked the salt level (it is 3719), but the low salt light is on and the displays no water. I do not any cloudy water in the cell like it is usually when producing chlorine. View answer

Can the complete RJ-45 Plus System replace my current complete Si+ 45 System (Control Panel, Flow Sensor, Cell) WITHOUT cutting, gluing, retrofit any electrical connections, require professional installation? In other words, will the RJ-45 Plus Complete System be an easy Plug and Play to my existing system? View answer

Is there a way to recalibrate the temperature sensor? My pool waterheater and pool thermometer both indicate that the pool is at 69 degrees F. But the readout on my RJ-60+ shows the water temp. to be around 50 deg F. As a result, the RJ-60+ is not generating any chlorine. It says that the temp. Is too low. Is there anything that I can do to correct the discrepancy in temperature. Charles View answer

I currently have an eco-smart pool system that uses a cartridge with copper electrodes for algae control and titanium electrodes for bacteria control. The pool has dissolved copper at a rate of 3-5ppm in it. Additionally the chemistry of the water requires 250-400 ppm calcium hardness. If I want to convert will Ihave to do something about the water chemistry? View answer

Can the flow switch with the RJ45+ system be installed in a vertical position following a 90 degree elbow after where the cell is installed (horizontally)? This is the portion of the pipe before that is still visible before it goes underground to return water to the pool (i.e. the last point before water returns to the pool). View answer

I have a 15,000-20,000 gallon in ground pool in the Dallas Texas Area. I would like to convert to saltwater and I am looking at the RJ+ series. Given the recommendation to upsize do you recommend a RJ30+ or RJ45+? Thanks View answer

I have a variable speed pump that controls all the timing onboard and the pump shuts off at night. If I directly wire this unit to a breaker can I just use the flow valve to control the chlorinator? The wiring instructions show it being wired to a timer, which I don't have in my system. View answer

I see in an earlier question, someone asked about the voltage requirements for the unit. I see that the answer was based on 110V or 220V (which I assume is Split phase). My area (north east usa) is primarily 120V -240 V split phase. Is this going to be an issue with your unit? Do i have to cap my Voltage with a transformer? View answer

What are the dimensions of the unit. I need to know the width of hook-up from inlet to outlet hook-up and the distance from the centerline of the pipe hook-up to the bottom of the cartridge. View answer

My PVC runs horizontal, and have pipe running parallel, under the section where I need to install this, which doesn’t leave me with enough clearance needed for the bottom of the cell. Can I pivot this when installing so the controls are back at an angle, and the bottom of the cell is more towards the front, to get around the PVC below? Or does this need to be installed straight up and down as shown? View answer

Does it matter if the salt system is installed vertical or does it have to be installed horizontal? I don't think i have enough pipe in the horizontal to install it that way. This is for the E-CHLOR plug in. View answer
