I had the notion that a pool salt water chlorine generator would actually deplete dissolved salt when creating free chlorine and it counterpart ion HClO3) Hypochlorus acid . Is the salt (NaCl) actually consumed without returning to it prior state as salt? Since temperature might play a part in chlorine adn/or salt consumption, what is the range of expected salt consumption per 1000 gallons or pool capacity in a hot climate like Palm Springs (summer vs winter). 3200 ppm of salt is supposed to be the ideal concentration, to maintain the salt pool, right?
