I purchased a Circupool UL40 Salt generator to replace an old Hayward. I guess I never noticed it before but the control unit is very warm if not hot to the touch. I do not smell burning wires and no breakers or fuses have been tripped. Unit is wired directly into a pool timer so it runs only 9 hours a day. Digital display says everything is within proper operating parameters. Can anyone tell me if the heat issue is normal? View answer

I use this unit on the lowest setting for my salt water(NaCL)hot tub and it works great! I’m considering switching to bromine due to my wife’s skin sensitivity. Will it generate bromine if I flush the system and add the sodium bromide? If so, where would I buy It(NaBr)? Thanks View answer

I’ve owned the SJ - 55 for a number of years but the cell is becoming less efficient as the calcium buildup on the electrodes is happening faster and faster after cleaning, so it seems I need a new electrode.My question is how long can I expect the wall mounted control module to last?Maybe I should just purchase both… View answer

I have a new intex 18x54 pool I’m installing. I bought the one that has the upgraded frame to resist corrosion. I’m only trying to get a couple years out of it to decide if we want to keep and maintain a real pool. Want a salt system but can’t find the intex brand. I have just enough space to maybe not use this but if I decide to get this. I have 2 questions. The 1st is will it decrease pressure in the system because of adding a vertical section. So I would have to run my vari. Pump at a higher setting? And the second is could I put this in horizontal? Thanks. View answer

I had the notion that a pool salt water chlorine generator would actually deplete dissolved salt when creating free chlorine and it counterpart ion HClO3) Hypochlorus acid . Is the salt (NaCl) actually consumed without returning to it prior state as salt? Since temperature might play a part in chlorine adn/or salt consumption, what is the range of expected salt consumption per 1000 gallons or pool capacity in a hot climate like Palm Springs (summer vs winter). 3200 ppm of salt is supposed to be the ideal concentration, to maintain the salt pool, right? Online, no one seems to address the salt consumption rate issue in Q and A's View answer
